RoboVidya is a web-based application, which can be used in any educational institution for its office administration and student life cycle management. The target institutions include primary and high schools, PU and Degree colleges and even engineering colleges. With its easily customizable features and parameters from the front end itself, even a novice can get command over the application within a short time. Its intuitive user interfaces and contextual help make the learning curve very short. Its customizable fields and a number of readily available reports result in increased productivity.

The whole application is modular in nature and following are the key modules:

Admission module

The module includes the admission process automation, fee collection, receipt generation and ID card printing. Student’s personal, academic, contact and other relevant details are captured here and stored against an auto generated admission number. Receipts and ID card designs are customizable to the liking of individual institutions. Reports such as Admission reports, Fee reports, due reports, etc. and also many more customized reports can be generated by means of appropriate filters. The reports can be exported to either PDF, Excel or both.
Performance module

The module consists of student performance-related parameter recording and reporting features. This includes the attendance, marks and any other extra curricular activities. Apart from these, a student’s health-related parameters can also be recorded on a continuous basis. All these data can be readily extracted as reports and also a cumulative record can be generated and printed.

The module also includes a time table creation feature using which a staff member can mark attendance and enter marks for the subjects they handle.

In addition, Marks card, Transfer certificate (TC) and Conduct certificate (CC) printing are also available in the module. Various statistics based on required parameters can be seen graphically and also can be exported to PDF or Excel.

Other features of this module include:

Staff details: Staff details such as personal, academic and other official details can be recorded. Cumulative academic service details can be updated. ID card generation for staff is also available. The tool enables easy maintenance of teaching, non-teaching and management staff details. Provision for entry of staff attendance along with leave details is made. This connects to the Payroll module to generate pay slips.
 
Alumni details: The application has a feature to automatically add the exit students to the alumni list. Alumni details can be further maintained and updated with relevant details for any future correspondence, etc.
Scholarship details: Details of various scholarships with the amount and beneficiary details can be recorded. A report can be generated as required.
User management: Staff as well as students can be users of the application at various access levels, as decided by the master administrator. Access privileges for each user can be provided selectively to different functional areas with either ‘read-only’, ‘read-write’ or ‘no access’ as required.
Communication module

The module enables the parent-teacher communication for some pre-defined events. These include announcement of exam marks, attendance level such as shortage below a specified percentage or any other general announcements. The module has a Compose and Mail Merge feature, wherein a subject body can be typed in and a printout or E-mail sending can be initiated with the addresses of selected parents merged with the body of the letter. An envelope-printing feature is also provided for printing the addresses on the envelopes.
Web module

This module facilitates publishing of various results and reports from the tool directly to the web. Various settings and preferences can be set in this module, which would simplify the task of web publishing even by a novice.
