Robosoft's ambition is to be an experience-led engineering partner — a company that wins because it brings a clear point of view on how great digital products should feel, not just a competitive delivery model. That ambition is real and it is gaining traction in the market. The Experience Design Strategy Director exists to close that gap: to bring experience strategy into client engagements, and to position Robosoft as a design-led partner that leads with product thinking, not just engineering output.
Day to day, you will lead experience and product conversations with clients across Robosoft's key verticals (media and entertainment, mobility, and travel and tourism). You will bring an experience vision into pre-sales conversations, shape how Robosoft frames proposals from a design and product perspective, and act as the bridge between what clients want to feel and what Robosoft's engineering teams can build. You will work alongside the Client Strategy Lead, vertical leads, AI Lead, and Technology and Solutioning Lead, contributing the experience dimension to every client conversation and every proposal.
This role is designed for someone who has led experience and design strategy at an agency or consultancy, is genuinely energised by the early-stage client conversations, and is ready to bring that capability to a company with serious engineering depth behind it. You have a portfolio of work that speaks for itself, and you know how to walk a client from where their product is today to where it needs to be.
Responsibilities:
Experience Strategy and Client Leadership
- Lead UX strategy and product experience conversations with clients at C-suite and VP Product level, bringing a clear point of view on what good looks like and how to get there.
- Run discovery workshops and design briefings that help clients articulate their experience vision and connect it to a deliverable roadmap.
- Shape the experience narrative in client proposals, ensuring that Robosoft's design-led positioning is credible, specific, and differentiated.
- Build direct relationships with design and product leaders at client organisations, becoming a trusted voice on experience strategy.
Pre-sales Contribution
- Work alongside the Client Strategy Lead and vertical leads to bring a compelling experience dimension to every proposal and pitch.
- Help clients move from a technology-first framing to an experience-first framing, and connect that experience vision back to the engineering delivery that Robosoft can provide.
- Contribute to Robosoft's positioning, ensuring that the company's experience and design credentials are visible in every client conversation.
Design Leadership and Standards
- Define the experience standard for Robosoft engagements, working with offshore design and product teams to ensure quality, consistency, and alignment with client expectations.
- Champion design systems thinking, journey design, and user research as core components of how Robosoft approaches digital product work.
- Stay current on experience design trends, including the role of AI in design workflows, and translate them into relevant points of view for clients.
Thought Leadership
- Build Robosoft's authority as an experience-led partner through content, case studies, and participation in design and product industry forums.
- Develop the company's point of view on experience-led digital transformation, contributing to the go-to-market narrative alongside the Client Strategy Lead and vertical leads.
Requirements:
Required Experience
- 12 to 18 years of experience in UX strategy, experience design, or product strategy, with the majority of that time spent in a client-facing agency or consultancy context.
- Proven track record of leading experience design conversations with senior client stakeholders, including the ability to present, defend, and evolve an experience vision at C-suite level.
- Strong portfolio of digital product work demonstrating both experience strategy and the ability to work within complex, multi-stakeholder client environments.
- Experience contributing to pre-sales and proposal processes, including shaping the design and experience narrative in competitive pitches.
Technical Skills
- UX strategy and journey design, the ability to map, critique, and redesign complex end-to-end user experiences across digital products.
- Design systems, understanding how scalable design standards connect to engineering delivery.
- Rapid prototyping and concept development, the ability to give clients something tangible early in the process. (good to have)
- AI-augmented design tools and workflows, including how generative AI is changing the pace and scope of experience design. (good to have)
- Product strategy and roadmap development alongside UX, connecting experience decisions to product prioritisation. (good to have)
Additional Skills
- Executive presentation and storytelling, the ability to make complex experience strategy legible and compelling for non-design audiences.
- Ability to lead discovery workshops and facilitate strategic sessions with senior client and internal stakeholders.
- Understanding of software delivery processes sufficient to brief design outputs that engineering teams can build against.
- Client relationship management, the ability to build trust with design and product leaders and sustain those relationships over time.
